Even churches must be safeguarded. With places of worship becoming targets for Active Shooters, Texas now allows churches and places of worship to have their own armed security, as long as these security teams carry a Texas LTC. Spartan Handguns’ Church Armed Security Training will ensure that you and your security teams are informed, aware, and prepared for an active attack. Our classes at Spartan Handguns contains in-depth training that not only helps individuals get their LTC, but trains teams in taking down an Active Shooter, with intensive training on room clearing techniques, IED awareness, law enforcement interaction, room barricading, and more.
Introduction
Churches and Places of Worship have become targets for Active Shooters. Therefore now under Texas Law, Churches are now allowed to have their own armed security without having to be Licensed Private Security or hiring off-duty Police Officers.
These security teams must at least have their Texas License to Carry permits. At Spartan, we go further and also train these team members not only to get their License to Carry but also how to form 1-person, 2-person, and 3-person teams, to take on the Active shooter. These skills include room-clearing techniques, Improvised Explosive Device (IED) awareness, Law Enforcement interaction, room barricading, shooting from cover vs concealment, and more!

What do I need to do to provide this service to my place of Worship?
State Law now allows places of worship to designate certain individuals as Armed Security, without having to hire Licensed Private Security or Off Duty Police Officers. First, these “Volunteers” MUST at least have their Texas LTC. The Leader or Head of the place of worship decides who they want as armed security.
If I take action and defend someone with deadly force as Church security, whos responsible for any criminal or civil lawsuits?
Ultimately YOU are open to ANY Criminal and Civil lawsuits. It’s best to have some kind of personal liability insurance and obtain Legal services to advise you and defend you!

How long is the training and what equipment is needed?
The class training is typically 8 hours, though the total time is depending on group size. We provide training pistols (blue guns) for the equipment.
You will need to dress comfortably, and it’s highly recommended to have a gun belt with a holster.
NO recordings are allowed nor provided afterward. Refreshers are HIGHLY recommended and offered to stay sharp.
