This course has been officially established to complete the classroom training requirement for obtaining your License To Carry (LTC), also known as a Concealed Handgun License or a Concealed Carry Permit. Your training will educate you on your rights and teach you important safety and self-defense skills needed so that you can be prepared to handle any situation you may find yourself in.
Do you have a group? If you bring (4) guaranteed students to the class, your License To Carry class is FREE!
Introduction
All gun owners are required to obtain a Texas License to Carry Handgun (LTC/CHL), even if the handgun is for self-defense. Spartan Handguns offers field-tested guns and exceptional training that covers all the requirements of the Texas D.P.S. for gun owners to safely carry and operate handguns in various locations, including private businesses, parking areas, school zones, and government meetings.
The Texas LTC provides legal protections and other benefits when carrying a firearm that is not available through Permitless/Constitutional Carry in Texas. Not only are there benefits to having an LTC under Texas law, but the training also covers content that every gun owner is responsible for knowing and should be informed of.

Texas License to Carry Handgun Class Online
We also offer this class online through the Texas DPS! Take the course at your leisure on any computer, tablet, or even smartphone. This is a great option for busy individuals who just don’t have the time to sit in a classroom setting.
Simply click here and pay through our automated checkout. Then set up a student profile for your certificate upon completion! You may start and stop when you want and pick up where you left off each time.
After you complete the online course, print off your LTC 101 Certificate of Training and find a Texas LTC Instructor in your Texas hometown to complete the shooting proficiency. All that’s left to do is apply, get fingerprinted, and wait for your Texas LTC in the mail. If you’re in the Houston area, Spartan Handgun can schedule your shooting proficiency portion for $35!

Do you offer private License to Carry classes?
Yes, we do! We offer Texas License to Carry classes conveniently taught at your Home, Work, or Business locations. Private classes require a minimum of 6 students. All instruction is taught by PowerPoint. Handgun rentals are also available!

What equipment will I need for the class?
Our live in-person offering includes the following equipment:
- Range fee for the live shooting portion of the class
- Eye and ear protection
- All class paperwork
Rental Handguns are available during the class and are $25 (plus tax) per student which includes ammunition. These are .22 semi-auto handguns and are great for first-time shooters!
Do you offer a License to Carry refresher class?
Yes! You may register for the online version of the class by clicking here. This refresher course is for those that already have a license to carry. LTC holders received a lot of new benefits and protections in the last Texas legislative session. We can also carry in more places now with fewer restrictions.
What is included in the License to Carry refresher class?
This course covers everything a license holder needs to know. We break down and explain all the new laws so it’s easy for everyone to understand. We want to make sure everyone understands and knows all of the new laws.
If you have a Texas License to carry you will learn something new by taking our refresher course. You will learn about new law changes that license holders have been waiting years to see signed into law. A past legislative session gave License to Carry holders rights, protections, and benefits that ONLY APPLY to those with a license.
Some topics in this course include:
- Being intoxicated is no longer crime protection when carrying in an unposted 51% business
- Can carry at certain college sporting events
- New trespass protections added new “vehicle” carry laws (Finally!)
- Can now carry in more places
- Protection in some “off limit” places
- New prohibited sign and a LOT MORE
