Level 4 Personal Protection Officer (Bodyguard)
Available to Current Level 3 Certification Holders
This is the Texas Private Security Board required course in order to obtain a Level 4 Personal Protection Certification. A Level 3 Certification is required prior to attending this class.
Introduction
Those who go through our Level 4 Personal Protection Officer course will receive all the necessary training and more to be successful in the close protection industry. From observation skills to detecting and deterring threats, firearm safety, and physical intervention, our bodyguards are armed with the practical skills needed to make critical decisions to protect the personal safety of those they are given watch over. The course consists of Concepts in Personal Protection, Body Guarding Strategies, The Use of Force Continuum, and Unarmed Defensive Tactics

How do I become a Licensed Bodyguard in Texas?
You must hold a Level 3 Security Commission first, in order to receive your Level 4 certification.
What equipment will I need?
None, dress as you would with working out clothing, tennis shoes, gym pants, and T-shirt.
Can I start working right away as a PPO (bodyguard)?
You must submit your training certificate to TOPS, the same way as your Level 3, and work with a Licensed Security Company, that will request these types of services from clients. You must receive your TOPS card with your updated Level 4 first.
